Finding the Perfect Holiday Lodge
Buying a holiday lodge isn’t as simple as booking a break in a holiday lodge, there a lot more things to consider. After all, you’ll be visiting your own holiday lodge a lot more frequently.
South Lakeland Parks own and operate a number of top quality holiday parks with a wide range of holiday lodges to choose from.
There are a few things to consider when trying to find your perfect holiday lodge including; finding a suitable park, deciding if the running costs are ok, finding a holiday lodge that fits within your budget and finding a suitable location on-site to suit the holiday lodge you have chosen.
There are four holiday parks operated by South Lakeland Parks where you can purchase your own holiday lodge. These parks include White Cross Bay, Fallbarrow and Limefitt in the Lake District and Gatebeck near Kendal in Cumbria. Each of these locations has its own benefits, for example White Cross Bay and Fallbarrow are located on the shores of Lake Windermere, Limefitt is located in one of Lakeland’s most beautiful valleys and Gatebeck is sited in a semi-woodland location amidst unspoilt countryside. You have to ask yourself, what sort of place would you like to have a holiday lodge, a place by the lake or a place in the country?
As mentioned above, there are running costs to consider when buying a holiday lodge. These costs include rates, metered electric and metered or bottled gas. Members of staff at each of the parks will be able to provide more information on the rates at the various parks.
Once you have decided on the park, you then need to decide on which holiday lodge fits into your budget. South Lakeland Parks have a number of holiday lodges to choose from each with its own style, including Montreal lodge, Ontario lodge, New England lodge, Tay lodge, the Cosmopolitan Eco lodge and many more.
Lastly, you need to consider where on the site would be most suited to your holiday lodge. You will need to find out what plot locations are available, what the different areas of the park have to offer, whether different areas incur different site fees and most importantly, how long it will take before you can move in to your own holiday lodge.
Once you have the answers to all these questions, you’ll be able to make an informed decision about which holiday lodge is your perfect holiday lodge for you.
